Hi Devendra,

If you mean consumption as usage of that PRT, you can have a counter for that. However, this functionality is related with Plant Maintenance module. See the details here: Creating PRT Usage Counters.

Hi Experts,

Thanks for your valuable information,

Since the PRT's include high value items,

Managment requires it detailed consumption,

Wether it is possible to track such consumption?

Devendra

Hi Devendra,

You can include the item to the BOM. Or, if it is not possible, you can do an unplanned goods issue with a specific movement type for PRT usage. I have seen in a company, they used custom movement type Y61 to track the consumption of PRTs (that are represented by a tooling material type). You can track the usage in material movements reports, such as MB51, but you have to maintain also the stock.

Hi Julian,

As per my understanding, Tool (PRT) having some life time, for example, we can use one tool in an specific workcenter to produce a 1000 no's of specific material. So we can't add this in BOM for consumption. But, we can't use this tool for long time ( 1000 no's of material here) then we have to replace. we can't do issue against any of order, since it's used to produce many parts through different production order. Stores also to do plan for procurement of this Tool based on the usage of Tool in production/shopfloor. Management may wants to trace the tools usage for a particualr period. Please correct me whether my understanding is correct or not.

Thanks

Hi AKS,

I agree with you. Please see my previous answer. That represents the functionality that you just explained according to the standard settings and best practices.

Hi,

Whether it means that PRT Consumption should track through the MS EXCEL?

OR There is other means.

Hi Devendra,

You can do  this by integrating with plant Maintenance module. If PM is already implemented ,take the help of PM consultant and Create those high value PRTs as Equipment with equipment category as P in IE01,Setup measuring point and counter and  link this PRT to production order by assigning this PRT to routing or in operation of the production order.

Whenver production order is confirmed ,there will be a measuring docuement (IK17) genarated which you can refer as PRT usage .

Steps Involved:

  1. Create an equipment in IE01 with equipment category as P(PRT)
  2. Create a charactersitic as PRT Useage or PRT Number  in CT04
  3. Create a measuring Point and counter in IK01
  4. Create one measuring Docement to activate the measuring point created above
  5. Assign the measuring point in IE02 in th header
  6. Assign the useage forumula in PRT tab in IE02
  7. Assign the PRT to production routing in CA02

Thanks

Dear Devendra,

In the case of Material PRT, the usage can be tracked through COOIS report or else using CF21 and for

equipment PRT in the form of measuring document or else using the report CF23.

Also check this thread to explore more,

Hi,

As per standard scenario, PRT's can not be consumed but if you want to consume it then you need to create material master for that particular PRT and issue to production against movement type 261/mention in BOM.

To track consumed PRT's, check in MB51 with inputs Material (PRT), Plant and Mvt type 261.

In PP point view, we assign the PRT's to operations for the usage at work center which is mentioned by above experts.

Hi Devendra,

PRT' s are used as a tools which are used during the production. So they are not consumed.

PRT's needs to be created with material type FHMI and to be assigned to the particular operation in the Routing.

If your require them to be consumed then we need to define them in BOM.

Hi Devendra,

Never heard about the consumption of PRT. If it is consumable it should be component or spare parts.

Krishnendu.
