Dear All
My client all ready using Demand Management & MRP for FG material. They also want to plan for Packing material. I havnt idea of packing material planning.
Currently packing material maintained in BOM. For Example My FG material FG1. Material FG1 has multiple bom in 1st bom SFG1 & Pack1 material and 2nd alternative bom SFG1 & Pack2 material. They have the month plan of FG1 as well as pack1 & pack2 material suppose FG1 plan 10000kg ; pack1 plan 200 bag; pack2 : 50 drum.
I suggest to maintain the production version in MD61 (weekly planning). But they said in week we can use the bag or drum.
So i can i plan for Pack material ?

Hi JS,
You can use the Reorder base planning as explain by Rupesh or
you can use Variant configuration if you use more than 1 packing material.

Hi JS55,
You can use following activity:
1. For packing material- MRP type : PD
2. Lot size : EX
3. Planning strategy : 40 (Preplanning with Assembly)

Hi JS 55,
Use the reorder point planning for these packing materials such as VB.
System will generate a new requisition when the stock falls below the reorder point defined for the material.
Please the SAP help link,
Reorder Point Planning - Material Requirements Planning (PP-MRP) - SAP Library

Hi JS,
In material master MRP1 view maintain MRP type as VB -Manual Reorder point, Reorder Point (Some qty as per business need) ,Maintain the safety stock in MRP 2 view.
If stock of the material falls below the reorder point system automatically plan for procurement proposals upon MRP run.
Please test and come back.
Thanks & Regards,

Hi,
Then you need to use the quota arrangement functionality..create two production versions one having BOM with Pack1 as input and second one having BOM with input Pack2...
Now maintain the quota arrangement through MEQ1...give 50% to PV1 and 50% to PV2....
this will fulfill your requirement...
Thanks

Hi,
maintain the planning strategy like 10 in MRP 3 view for packing materials in their material masters...put the requirement through MD61 then do the planning run for FG1 through MD02 .... system will plan for Packing materials for both requirement from MD61 and also for dependent requirements from FG1 material...check and revert....
Thanks
Kumar
