Are you trying to connect to a database of type DB2 on IBM i, and R3trans by mistake assumes DB2 on Linux/Unix/Windows ("DB6")? Or are you trying to connect to a database of type DB2 on Linux/Unix/Windows? If the latter, I suggest that you use the tag "IBM DB2 for Linux, Unix and Windows" for your question.

What your trans.log and dev_w0 says ?

I would go to <orasid> check DB and listener status manually then come back to <sidadm> and troubleshoot it by looking at trans.log and dev_w0 log.
