BASIS Role in SYBASE

Dear Friends,

I'm new to Sybase DB.. I work as BASIS consultant in Oracle & SQL Server DB's only .

Now I have to support one more DB called SYBASE in another 1 month. So I have just one more month to start my work in Sybase.

I have downloaded few guides and I'm studying it.

My questions is can someone guide me on what are the activities a basis consultant will do in Sybase DB?

For an example, in case of oracle, basis consultant will do parameter change, optimizations , backup/restore...etc. likewise I would need some activity list a basis consultant will do in Sybase. or a knowledge a basis consultant should know in Sybase to do Basis support with Sybase.

Kindly help this Sybase Layman.
