Hi,

We have BW on HANA. We have system generated hana view for few BW objects that has view property "Apply Privilege" set to "SQL Analytic Privilege". I have created a calculation view which uses these system generated views & a table. I have set the calculation view property "Apply Privileges" to "SQL Analytic Privilege".

Have created a analytic privilege. We have a role created(All settings in Note 1882228 followed) & assigned to user.

User is able to see the system generated view but not the calculation view that I have created. SQL query on "accessible_views" for that user doesn't show the calculation view.

However when I change the view property "Apply Privileges" to "Classical Analytic Privileges" for the calculation view, user is able to see the calculation view. SQL query on "accessible_views" for that user shows the calculation view.

However it doesn't bring any data in BOBJ tools, probably because the dependent views use SQL Analytic Privilege.

Read a help documentation where SAP recommends using SQL Analytic Privilege (over Classical Analytic Privilege)

Is there any security restriction on using "SQL Analytic Privilege" for the calculation views?

Hi,

I have been doing further research on this. I have "_SYS_BI_CP_ALL" assigned to my user id. I am able to view & execute all the system generated views in system-local package. All the views in system-local package have view property "Apply Privilege" set to "SQL Analytic Privilege".

However if I create an information view(Irrespective of view type calculation/analytic) in a custom package with view property "Apply Privilege" set to "SQL Analytic Privilege", I don't see that view in the "accessible_views" or in Lumira. When I change Apply Privilege to "Classical Analytic Privilege" I am able to see this view.

Highly appreciate any help on this!

Thank You!
