Hello,
I am facing strange issue in Bex hierarchy used in Web intelligence report,
In Hierarchical table in webi, Same values are aggregating although they are from different level of hierarchy.
Version : SAP BusinessObjects 4.1 SP2
For Example:
Actual hierarchy in Bex
Level 1: XYZ
Level 2 : ABC 10
Level 2 : BCD 20
Level 2 : XYZ 30
Level 1: PQR
Level 2 : URT 34
Level 2 : RTE 25
Level 2 : ERT 24
Level 1: XYZ
Level 2 : ABC 10
Level 2 : BCD 20
Level 2 : XYZ 30
Level 2 : LMN 24
Level 2 : APO 24
But when I create hierarchy table in Webi it aggregates same value from different level and shows as follows,
Level 1: XYZ
Level 2 : ABC 20
Level 2 : BCD 40
Level 2 : XYZ 60
Level 1: PQR
Level 2 : URT 34
Level 2 : RTE 25
Level 2 : ERT 24
Level 1: XYZ
Level 2 : LMN 24
Level 2 : APO 24
In above you can see values for ABC, BCD, XYZ is aggregated although they are from different level.
If anyone have faced this kind of issue then please help me if you have any solution to this.
Thanks in Advance.
Hi Priyank,
Right click on the table and select the option
"Avoid aggregation of duplicate rows"
Thanks,

Hi Vivek,
I have tried to check “Avoid aggregation of duplicate rows”, but it does not resolve the issue and shows result as,
Level 1: XYZ
Level 2 : ABC 10
Level 2 : ABC 10
Level 2 : BCD 20
Level 2 : BCD 20
Level 2 : XYZ 30
Level 2 : XYZ 30
Level 1: PQR
Level 2 : URT 34
Level 2 : RTE 25
Level 2 : ERT 24
Level 1: XYZ
Level 2 : LMN 24
Level 2 : APO 24
Thanks everyone,
Current issue is resolved after hierarchy update at backend.

Hi,
It is design behaviour. You have added the child nodes twice in the hierarchy under parent nodes with same name and hence it is aggregating the values.
Try applying filters or Create Separate hierarchy (or BEx Query) for below portion and display in separate table block.

Hello Priyank,
when you add additional characteristics into the table then the values for the key figures are being repeated and when you then create a simple summary, the values are becoming wrong.
Yes - Analysis OLAP and Analysis Office and Design Studio will show correct totals and subtotals as they have an understanding of what a hierarchy is.

Hi Ingo,
Thanks for reply,
Here I have attached both output bex query output and Webi report output,
In bex query output i have highlighted rows which are getting aggregated in webi report and showing under first level of hierarchy. When you check webi report output you can observer only parent nodes are coming for the values but child member are aggregating in first level.
Please check and let me know is this the expected behavior in Webi reports for bex hierarchy?
Note: To identify the difference i have checked "Avoid aggregation of duplicate rows".
Thanks in Advance,
Hi,
Are you using the BW hierarchy or BEx Structure?
If you use BEx Structure (Hierarchy), then:
You can check the below blog for formula to pick up the value of another row:
If you use BW Hierarchy, then you need to post value (assign 0) at the backend to the dummy nodes so that it will appear in the WebI tool.
Please note: BEx Structure is static and BW Hierarchy is dynamic. These hierarchies has its own advantages and disadvantages.
Hope it helps!
Thanks.
