First off you of course have to configure Single Sign-On (SSO) between portal and your backend system, see the documentation for details. You can integrate SAP Fiori applications by creating SAPUI5 iViews for them, see this document for details. You probably don't want to call NWBC for HTML from the portal because of the known restrictions, see SAP note 162076 for details. If you want to anyway, you might want to look at this document in order to do so. Maybe you should consider using NWBC for Desktop to access portal which then has all the relevant content. There are also known restrictions with that scenario, see this discussion thread for details. You might end up using NWBC for Desktop to access ABAP backend systems and portal only when required. You can enable SSO in NWBC regardless if you choose to implement portal or not, assumed you have access to a SSO product capable of supporting all the SSO requirements. NWSSO is one of them.

In order to have the UI5 portal component, you need a specific SP & patch level of the portal. See SAP note 1708020 for details. For example with NetWeaver 7.3, SP07, patch level 11 is required.

Hi Samuli,
Thanks for the reply is their some other way to integrate SAP fiori link to SAP EP 7.3 other than using UI5 Component.

Thanks,

Yes, you can either use the Generic portal component of AI or create a custom portal component for it. I would recommend you however to use the UI5 portal component since it is the supported way.

Hello Samuli,
I am using the generic copmonent used fro created NWBC iview to integrate Fiori.

Entered the  following properties:

HTTP Request Method :HTTP: GET

System alias : AB_DEV_100

ULR: Templet : https://Host:port/sap/bc/ui5_ui5/ui2/launchpage

Still not able to integrate:

I guess you are using either the Classic or Ajax Framework Page? Those support only quirks mode and in a header less portal page (New Window). See SAP note 1708020 for details. Furthermore Fiori applications have to run in standards mode. If your portal does not have the standards mode property, easiest way is to use the Unified Framework Page (UFP) which supports only standards mode. If that is a problem (you also have applications requiring quirks), you could use a URL parameter to force standards mode for the Fiori applications, see SAP note 1900896 for details.

Hello Samuli,
Yes we are using Ajax frame work page.

If you say we need to use UFP which supports only standerd mode. How do i set it?
I am unable to see the UFP in portal.
We are using IE8.

You do not have to use UFP, you can. Maybe you should first see if the application works correctly once you launch it in a separate window and use application parameter on the iView to force standards mode. In order to use UFP, you will have to create a custom portal desktop containing the UFP framework page and a suitable portal theme which you then assign to users using the Master Rule Collection. As with the SAPUI5 iView, a fairly recent version (SP level, patch level) of portal is required. With NW73 it was introduced with SP9, with NW731 with SP7.

Hi Samuli,
I tried to integrate  SAP fiori url using URL Iview  also i tried integrating simple google url.

Both giving me the same error "this content cannot be displayed in a frame".

But when i click on the"options" on right hand and click on the option "open in New Window " it works.

What can be the issue?

Kindly suggest,
Prajakta

That's a known restriction, unless you launch the application in a new window it is embedded in an frame (iFrame) inside the portal page. Not all applications allow being invoked within an iFrame. Even with the SAPUI5 iView template, the SAPUI5 applications (eg. Fiori) are launched in a new window as instructed in SAP note 1708020.

Hi Samuli,

Thanks for the help.

1) Using generic template we integrated NWBC link as suggested.

2)  Using UI5 template integrated Fiori link ,and the issue got resolved by installation of IE9 and opening the iview in seperate headerless portal window(Standerd mode).

Thanks for all your reply.

Few issues with the browser need to figure them out. NWBC generic iview not working in chrome.
