Correct System TimeZone

Hi All,

We are in phase of building new server and came across a questions what timezone we should maintain for SAP Systems.

Our SAP systems are in US and we are planning to set timezone as UTC-5 because I came to know if we are setting UTC-5 timezone we do not need to shutdown system during Daylight Saving.

but now the next question is our Servers have EST on OS level and User Profiles Time Zone are set according to their location.

What are pros & cons setting up UTC vs EST. Our OS is on EST not. What will be the impact if we configure SAP on UTC?

Please suggest.

    Hello,

Your Operating system and System time zone should be same. If you are setting UTC as operating system time zone then system time zone should be same. However, user default time zone can be different. You can refer to below 2 links for more information:

    Thanks,

    Hi ,

Sunny is correct your OS and SAP timezones must always match.
