Hi all,

Our client has requested to set up a DEMO for the RFx process in SRM. After some investigations, below are my findings to beginning setting this up.  Let me know what I have left out from the pointers below and also answers to my questions below will help.

Define number ranges

Define transaction type

Define transaction type for RFx in organization plan.

Define sourcing for product categories

Roles assignment to Bidders  and Purchasers.

Do I need bidding engine for running RFx process?  We do not intend to use SUS.

Regarding output settings, what are the main settings we need to complete to enable sending bids via email, and where do define / assign the output forms?

What are the steps for setting up weighting and ranking to enable evaluation and comparison of bids?

Thanks.

Hi,

Thank you for your response and clarifying how the RFx process should flow.  We are integrating with Portal, SRM version 7.02.  My question was more along making sure I have all the steps (checklist) clear regarding the the configuration I need to carry out to set up Rfx.  Can you outline these configure steps in order of setup and any details you can provide around output settings, emailing, how to set up weighting and ranking to enable evaluation and comparison of bids?  In our case we don't have SUS, so going with your answer, we have to use Bidding engine, which I assume is integrated into any standard SRM installation.  Is that correct?

Thank you

Hello Joseph,

Regarding Configuration part I can tell you based on the scenario you are going to implement for your client. Also regarding above configuration I can tell you to follow this below document as I hope most of the users go with this document

http://books.google.se/books?printsec=frontcover&id=LdTDYks7rbwC&redir_esc=y#v=onepage&q&f=false

Also , it depends upon the business function which you activate its nothing like default in SRM. You have to activate the business function as per your requirement.

Thanks

Hello Joseph,

Rfx Process is related to Bidding Engine. Once the PR is created in ECC and Transferred to SRM then taking the PR as External Request Number you will find the SC . Now moving further with the respective SC you will create the RFx.After creating the RFx , your requirement would be to get response from the respective vendors i.e their Quoted Value. So the complete process goes under Bidding Engine.

Regarding SUS its all business requirement how you want to handle the system . Even if you don't have SUS you can go ahead.

Moreover I would like to ask are you integrating SRM with Portal or NWBC also on which version are you working on.

Thanks
