Crystal reports caches old connection information

Hi,

We are on Business Objects SP04 Patch 5. We have a DEV-QA-UAT-PRD landscape for BOBJ. We have few crystal enterprise reports that everytime we move them using Promotion Management tool we need to move the connections with them too for the reports to work. Otherwise if we move only reports using Promotion management say for eg from DEV to QA the moved reports connects to DEV even though existing connections in Q are poiting to BW QA server. To get around this we need to move the connections again to QA and repoint them again to BW QA system. The majority of the other existing crystal enterprise reports we move, we do not move the connections since they are already in place and these reports connect correctly using the existing connection. Has anyone experienced this? The only difference between these reports and the others I see that these reports have table statistics enabled on them. We also tried restarting the Crystal reports cache server but does not seem to help.

Thanks,

Clarence

Hi,

Then you can try to use the connection override settings in promotion management .

This will allow administrators to manage the migration of server host settings from environment to environment very easily. ( ex: Connection, OLAP connections)

Below are the docs for the same.

Thanks JRK for the reply. I will test the connection override settings and see if they work for us.
