Loyalty Points Redemption Process

Hi gurus

With a loyalty program the BP will earn points, these points then have an expiry date for interest sake lets say they expire after 6 months, if you were to redeem these points how is this done? dose it work on a first in first out system or are the points redeemed at random?

It would make sens that the points that are going to be redeemed be the points closest to there expiration date?

dose any one know the process?
