We are creating the inspection lot , but with blank account assignment details like cost center. I want to know what is the importance and impact with pros n cons to enter the account assignment details in inspection lot? What it will add to the business if we input it and what is the loss if we leave it blank?
In case of material procurement, if the PO is created with special stock (e.g. the material is bought against project / cost center), the account assignment details in the inspection lot are copied from PO.
And in case the material is procure without any special stock, the account assignment details are blank in the inspection lot.

Hi Prem
As Nitin said those details will be useful when we capture the cost for inspection lot. In the inspection plan operation we will assign work center. In the work center we enter the cost center and controlling area. In work center we assign the activities like machine time, labor time, set up time etc. When we perform QM functions with that work center whatever the timings we consume of that work center those will be used to calculate the cost.To Capture these cost details the account assignment field will be used.

A very general explanation! It is basically used to capture QM costing which incurs due to Quality inspection covering various process.
Against a specific cost center, you would be carrying out QA inspection by using some machinery, equipment, samples etc. If you need to capture cost of all these, you use account assignment.
