Plan and Certificate for Cable

Hi friends,

I am doing implementation in cable industry

I have came across the scenario on which i required your suggestions Requirement is like that client is producing cable tube. In that single cable there is 5-7 other coloured Binder. In those coloured Binder bundels 10-12 fibres in each coloured binder bundels. For those coloured fibres some quality tests are performed like attunation check etc. I need to make a quality plan according to these requirements and certificate generation like below.  Please check below  sheet and provide your valuable sugessions to map the scenario,

    Hi,

    In my opinion, you can proceed in following manner and test the settings,

    • Make a Quality plan and name the Group as 'Cable'
    • In this group, assign different task lists like Blue First layer (Gr Counter 1), Orange First layer (Gr Count 2), Green First layer (Gr Count 3) and so on.
    • In each of the task list, assign two operations i.e Blue (Bundle 1) & Orange (Bundle 1).
    • Assign MICs to these operations.

    For the MIC part, you can make 12+12 Quant MIC for Blue, Orange, Green, Brown... Turquoise !!

    See below snapshot for the reference.

    This way you should be able to make a single inspection plan with different task list and operation as per the requirement.

    Test it and revert back if you face any issue or get any query. If this doesn't work out, other possibility can be explored !!

    From your description, it doesn't appear that you perform the testing on every possible wire in the bundle.  Do you?

    If you do, I think the solution is pretty straight forward.  You have already provided a numbering scheme above in your example.  Create 360 General Characteristics for ATTENUATION.  Assign them to a series of MIC's.  Name the MIC's like  A001  through A360. The description for the characteristics would be something like this.

    001 - Blue Tube 1, Blue Bundle, Blue Fibre

    002 - Blue Tube 1, Blue Bundle, Orange Fibre

    003 - Blue Tube 1, Blue Bundle, Green Fibre

    004 - Blue Tube 1, Blue Bundle, Brown Fibre

    005 - Blue Tube 1, Blue Bundle, Grey Fibre

    006 - Blue Tube 1, Blue Bundle, White Fibre

    007 - Blue Tube 1, Blue Bundle, Red Fibre

    008 - Blue Tube 1, Blue Bundle, Black Fibre

    009 - Blue Tube 1, Blue Bundle, Yellow Fibre

    010 - Blue Tube 1, Blue Bundle, Violet Fibre

    011 - Blue Tube 1, Blue Bundle, Pink Fibre

    012 - Blue Tube 1, Blue Bundle, Turquoise Fibre

    013 - Blue Tube 1, Orange Bundle, Blue Fibre

    014 - Blue Tube 1, Orange Bundle, Orange Fibre

    015 - Blue Tube 1, Orange Bundle, Green Fibre

    016 - Blue Tube 1, Orange Bundle, Brown Fibre

    Repeat for each tube.

    etc.. etc..

    Create your batch class for CABLE. Assign the 360 general characteristics to the class.  In the class specify the individual attenuation specs for each characteristic. 

    If you don't need anything fancy from the inspection plan, simply inspect by material specification.

    If you want to, create an inspection plan and inspect with both Material spec and task list.

    I would crate one operation for each tube.  Each of these operations would have 24 tests under it.

    If they don't test every fibre, make the characteristics all optional MIC's.

    The setup is a lot, but It shouldn't take more than a day to set this up manually.  I would believe this would be pretty static stuff.
