GL Account Creation Error FH740

Dear Experts

While creating GL account the system is giving Error "Specify P&L account statement type", Where as there is no place to mention P&L Account statement type. It is worth mentioning here that I have maintained only one retained earning account. Screen of error is given below. And I know that P&L account statement type is to be mentioned if we maintain more than one retained earning account.

Kindly help.

Regards

Simple.... Just go to OB13 and leave Group chart of account blank. You'll be able to save the GL account.

Hi Rajneesh

You need to define a retained earnings account in OB53.. If you define only one, system derives it automatically i.e. all P&L accounts are assigned to it by default for Balance c/f

If you define multiple, then you need to choose the same at the time of defining GL master

Hi Rajneesh

I just checked in my system

The field opens up in GL master when 2 retained earnings account are assigned in OB53.. If I assign only one, the field is invisible..

I am scratching my head, what could be the reason... Are you sure you are creating GL in the same chart of account for which only one account is specified in OB53?

Ajay Sir

Yes I am creating GL for the same COA which is assigned to this co code. And for sure only one retained earning account I have maintained in OB53. I will paste screen of OB53 also soon.

One more thing to mention here is that for this co code I earlier assigned a different COA but later I changed it. How ever no transaction data is posted to this co code. No other master data is present (relating to earlier COA) such as CE (Prim or Secondary) and to the best of my capacity I have checked all. Now can you please suggest some T code or some prog which can check the settings at one shot.

Sir

Further to my post I am posting screen of OB53. In this P&L statemen type column is blank then the result is coming as I posted in my initial post. If I put X or Y here then system provide space to maintain P&L account ststement type, whereas even then system should not ask for this as there is only one retained earning account defined in COA/Co Code.

Hi,

Even you define one RE account, that should be identified with some indicator.

Murali Sir and Mr. PVR

Yes. you are right sir, that we should give some indicator even if we have only one RE account. But as I said earlier also if I am giving indicator there (suppose 'x') then I get a field to mention indicator while creating GL but it should not be required because we have only one RE account and the system should automatically derive it.

Hi,

Even with one retained earnings account, put X at both places. OB53 and while creating GL account.

This should work. Please let me know if you still face issues.
