Connectivity between NWDS and PO server for NW BPM Development

Hello Experts

I am planning to use NW BPM in my project and checked few blogs of William Li. Accordingly i created 1 BPM scenario in NWDS and attempted to deploy the same but got the error

com.sap.tc.devconf.DevConfigException: Cannot create local DCProxy for DC that is either synchronized or local only:PI-SCP-BUILDT:sap.com/bie/sca/scdl/contributors/xi

I checked few blogs mentioning the same and I hope this is due to the fact that it is the local development component and hence not getting deployed.

Could you please let me know where we configure PO server? I couldn't find anywhere we can set the same. In case of ESR and ID development through NWDS, it gives option to connect to PO server but didn't saw the same while developing BPM process in Composite Designer.

Hello,

I don't think it has anything to do it with selecting/configuring PO system. Obviously u have to give PI hostname and instance for deploying BPM but that will come only once ur BPM is build successfully.

It's a build error, so go to DI perspective -> search for ur Software Component -> then right click on component -> Select component properties -> and check if PI-SCP-BUILDT component is added under it or not?

I said component is added. Please check the screen shot for the same.

I restarted the NWDS and again tried the same and got the same error.

That could be one of the reason for such kind of  anomaly

BTW, u are getting any error while adding hostname/instance? Try tro add it under "Default" domain?

Definitely you should ensure that both NWDS and PO are on the same patch level. We also had a lot of issues once when PO patch level was higher.

It doesn't give any error and niether adds one. I tried adding one under Default domain as well. I have requested BASIS team to upgrade my SAP PO 7.31 server. Hopefully will try it later.

Hi Amit,

Now I have got patch level upgraded for my PO server. I was able to add the SAP PO system by one of the workaround suggested in other forum.

Just about that. If anyone is experiencing similar problem you can go to Window->Show View->Other->Management Console. Right Click to add SAP system. It will popup for username and password. Here we should enter OS level password on which SAP PO system is installed (e.g. Linux/Unix/Solaris user). It adds the SAP system.

Now still the basic problem remains. Still it gives the same error.

May be u can re-create ur BPM (with just one activity) and check if it's working or not?

To be precise, i have encountered this error while developing BPM inside NWDI SC (due to missing reference) and not sure why you are getting this error for local component

In addition to that, u can raise ur question under BPM forum where u will hopefully get more answers.

Actually I created a new DC from Development Infra prespective and then was able to Build and Deploy.

Hi Ameet, I successfully Deployed my BPM in NWDS. It is a simple XML file as an input and the output file will be put in different folder. I'm very new to single stack SAP PO. Can you please help me what should I do to complete my configuration section in Integration Directory, so that my scenario can use my BPM which I developed in NWDS?

Hi Ameet,

Did you select the SAP AS Java which should be used for deployment?

Furthermore do you want to use the local deployment or the deployment on a remote host and are you using NWDI?

But I am surprised, atlease it should be able to add the system.

Hi Ameet,

you need to use the NWDS which has equal or lower version as you PI system. There are many ESR issues seen with NWDS higher version used with PI/PO lower version.

Check the usage type of BPM is enabled on your PO Server ....

you can do this using url http://host:port/utl/UsageTypesInfo...

UT Code BPM should list there...

I am not planning to use NWDI since we already have SOLMAN which can serve as Domain Controller. Actually I am looking to deploy the developed BPM scenaio in Composite Designer to my SAP PO server but couldn't find a place to specify to which server it needs to be deployed similar to the way we specify while deploying Integration Directory IFlows.

Did you select the SAP AS of the PO system in the menu I mentioned below in the screenshot. That should be the system to be used for local deployments.
