Excel BEX, making sense of SAPBEXqueries!FZ:GS

Having watched a workbook refresh and how BEX deals with SAPBEXqueries!FZ:GS, how do you go about tying the variables to the correct query? There seems to be no connection, at least between the queries of said page and the variable listed on said page.

In my case, multiple queries have the same variables so, in FZ:GS, the same entry appears multiple times. But I need to know which holds the most current value so I can apply it to the rest of the entries. Sure, I could compare before and after but that seems VOODOO'ish.

During the refresh, looks like the variables are added to the bottom of the variable list as the queries are refreshed but depending on that is also seemilgly VOODOO'ish.

What I'm looking for is a clear link between the variables and queries and based on what I see, it doesn't exist... Please prove me wrong!
