Hi,
how is the user management be done when having users accessing ICH data through the SAP Portal?
E.g. a user should be able to see inventory overview through the portal. Do the portal and ICH necessarily have their user repositories or is it possible to share the same user repository for both? If sharing is possible, how can the different roles for the portal and for the ICH be handled? If it is only possible with two separate repositories, can the replication mechanism of the UME be used (like in the portal and SRM scenario)?
Thanks a lot for your help. If anybody has got a document explaining the user management of ICH, it would help me a lot to receive it.
Best regards,
Markus
Thanks for the replies!
We are using the CUA. So the ICH roles will be maintained in there. The Portal roles and groups are maintained in the Portal. Portal user categories are mapped to Portal roles/groups and to ICH roles. User IDs are the same.
Andreas, I hope that could help a bit.
Best regards,
Markus

Hi Markus,
The user management for ICH is available in the best practices Configuration documentation for ICH. The settings done here are the same and acessible in the POrtal since the portal, is nothing but the BSP pages. Hope this is helpul to you.

Hi Markus,
which solution did you find for this scenario? I am planning to implement a similar scenario and any hint would be helpful.
Thanks and regards,
Andreas
