Portal changes to be taken care on ECC change

Hi,

In our landscape, Enterprise Portal connected with R3 4.6. There are couple of custom WebDynpro applications developed on NWDI track by using Z RFCs in R3 4.6

Now client planning to setup a new ECC 6.0 system which will maintain all Z RFCs from R3 4.6 and planning to add few fields in Z RFCs. Going forward they will decommission R3 4.6 system and Enterprise portal will connect to ECC 6.0.

As current applications pointing to R3 4.6, what are the steps I need to take to work these applications error free as part of system change.

My questions are -

1. Do we need to reimport models. If so, do we need to do remapping for entire application?

2. About JCos

3. Need to create system object in portal?

etc....

I request, please let me know the check list to perform from portal front end.

Appreciate your valuable suggestions.

Thanks

Ian

Hello,

As long as the FM interface does not change you dont need to reimport the models.

You will have to adjust the JCO connections to ensure they point to the new host i.e. your new ECC 6.0 system.

Also you will have to adjust the system objects in portal to ensure they point to the correct host.

Hope this helps.
