Hi Experts,

I have a webi report built on BEx query, i did  some changes in BEx/Webi and tested it worked fine.

But when i tried to open the report now it throws an attached error, am using BO 4.1, It looks like the error is generic but could there be any reason coming this in BO 4.1, was it not fixed in the new version?

Any thoughts is highly appreciated.. thanks in advance..

Hi Vinay,

If you create a new Webi document with that olap connection does it work (don't put much time into that, its just to test the principle).

Can you open the Webi document in Modify mode? Sometimes just rebinding the connection to the document gets it back working again.

Hi Sathish / Gill

  • I am using BEx through BICS connection.
  • I did try to build the report using same BEx query it worked fine, also i tried to open the report in desinn mode but still the issue is outstanding.

Thanks,

Vinay

Hi Vinay,

OK, it's not looking good then 😞

Is this in your production or development environment and let us know which version and SP you are on?  Some of the earlier versions saw these errors coming up with a lot of regularity.

And dare I ask, how long will it take you if you had to start from scratch?

Hi Gill,

Yes its in the production and QA, the version which am using is BO 4.1 with support pack 2 / patch 1.

It will take a matter of an hour to address the new changes..

Thanks,

Vinay

Hi Vinay,

Same environment as ourselves which has been significantly more stable than previous versions but there is the very odd time that I lose a publication! I know you could spend a while trying to repair/recover but sometimes you have to make a call to start from scratch.

You are right in saying that the error is so generic it is of little use 😞  Sorry but I won't be of any help to you on this one.
