Hi All,
I have loaded data from one cube to another cube with selection of a fiscal year (say 2014001) .
After that i have deleted the records from the older cube using selective deletion (say 2014001).
But the number of records that i deleted from older cube are more when i compared to the records loaded to new cube.?
Can i know the reason
Hi Karthik
First of all there is no issue with the difference in no. of records.
The reason behind the difference in no. of records is that when the data is loaded characteristics with similar combinations will get aggregated into a single record. One main reason for multiple line items in the old cube could be because of delta loads.
You can check the total after loading any other period between the two cubes which should match 100%.

Hi karthik,
if you selective deletion of cube compare the old cube data and new cube data.
are you using the same info objects two cubes and please validate two cubes data with minimum records.
please check the how many records transferred and added records in two cubes level.
check the all fields and key figures.
Thanks,
phani.

Hi
Only reason is, in the Old cube, whenever you load data, against the request, you can see transferred records and added records... its based on the aggregates and cube have always summarized property
when you load the same data from old cube to new cube, you can see the same columns, transferred and added records
In the end, when you check the data with your selections, it shouldnt be a problem, because, when you make a selective deletion, data will be deleted and i hope you see no data in the older cube

Hi Karthik,
Your new cube is exactly similar to old cube?
If yes then please check the setting of DTP.
Hope it will help.

Hi karthik,
Did you copy new cube from old cube?
Any routine in the new cube , which might filter out some records?
You try to reconstruct the old cube ( if psa exists ) and try again . You can debug and see whats happening to the missing records.
Hope it helps,
Rgds,
sudhir

HAve you selected "With Aggregates" checkbox in DTP ?
You must upload from Cube(Without Aggrs). Hope you might have compressed in Old cube so that no. of records are less in older.

Hi Karthik,
Check the key figures used in your older cube and the new cube. May be some records are aggregating at new cube. Check all the (fields) info objects and Key figures in your cube.
I think some fields are missing in the new cube and this is causing the problem with loaded records.

Krishna Chaitanya.
