Component - operation issue

Dear All,

I created & released one production, while checking the components, the components allocated to different operations

say 0010, 0020 etc.,

But i executed the Read pp masterdata function, then all the components are allocation to first operation 0010.

How it happend and how to change this pervious allocated opeation sequence.

Please explain.

Hi Suresh,

Components are not assigned in Routing Master data, hence when you read master data all the components get assigned default to first operation. You can reassign the componenets in order by going to operation overview -select the operation and click on components for operation tab. System will display the components. Select the component and reassign tab at bottom - Pop will be displayed to select the operation number.

Once if you assign in Routing master data..this problem will not repeat.

Hi Surash,

As other forum members already mentioned if you don't maintain all the component will be assigned in the first operation. Hence reassign again. Automatic assignment is different operations (0010,0020...) is not possible.

Hi Suresh,

Component allocation data are read from routing. If there is no information in the routing, then all components will be allocated to the first operation. Probably the routing that you just read using "Read PP master data" function has no component allocation info.

To change the allocation, you can go to "Component Overview" screen (F6) and press the "Reassign" button at the bottom of the components list as follow:

Components are allocated to production order based on routing master data. Once you do 'read PP master data' system copies latest master data to the production order. However you can change the component allocation within order. Just go into operations and allocate components to the operations you want. Otherwise change the routing and do 'read PP master data' again.
