Forecast consumption with descriptive characteristics

Hello,

We’re having an issue in the SNP interactive planning. We are using descriptive characteristics & consumption group to consume the forecast at customer level. The valuation of the descriptive characteristics works correctly for sales orders and forecast in the interactive planning, the system shows the icon with the valuation of the
descriptive characteristics and both planning elements (forecast and sales orders) have the same valuation. The error is that in the standard key figure Total Demand the sales orders don’t consume the forecast. The standard macro Stock balance does not work properly in the calculation of the standard auxiliary key figure DMDCON Demand (Forecast/Sales Order).

However in the product view /SAPAPO/RRP3 the forecast is correctly consumed by the sales orders at customer level based on the valuation of the descriptive characteristics.

Is it necessary to make any change in the macro Stock balance to take into consideration the descriptive characteristics for the forecast consumption?

Thanks in advance. Regards

Hi,

Yes, the forecast consumption works properly in the product view /SAPAPO/RRP3: the valuation of the descriptive characteristics valuation work for the forecast & sales orders; and the forecast consumption is performed at customer level.

Thanks. Regards

Hi Miguel

I assume that you are trying to Characteristics Based Planning in SNP. As we found out few years back for a different requirement, SNP does not support Characteristics based planning, we had to use PPDS for that. I suggest you open a message with SAP for this issue.

Thanks,

Hi Miguel,

Check whether the stock balance macro have the step Consumption (forecast/sales)

Row: Demand (Forecast/Sales Order) ( Frm INITIAL ) =

DEMAND_CALC( ACT_PRODUCT ; ACT_LOCATION ; ACT_VERSION ;

BUCKET_EDATE(

Row: Sales Order ( Frm INITIAL )

) ;

Row: Sales Order ( Frm INITIAL )

Row: Forecast ( Frm INITIAL )

)

and Total demand is calculated based on the Row: Demand (Forecast/Sales Order) ( Frm INITIAL )

Hi Thamizh,

Yes, we are using the standard macro Stock Balance that includes that step to calculate the auxiliary key figure Demand (Forecast/Sales Order). However this calculation is not working properly.

Thanks. Regards
