Hello Experts,
could you please tell me when we need to use infosource in SAP BW7.3 with a business case .
I have seen that in SPO , apart from that where is the need to use this?
Thank you.
Hi,
you can use it when you apply the same logic to several targets with one or more sources with the same (partly the same) data structure .
please read through this:
Recommendations for Using InfoSources - Modeling - SAP Library

Using an inbound Info Source in front of an Info Provider, and an outbound Info Source after an Info Provider, makes it possible to bundle the logic. The transformation logic is always located between the outbound Info Source of the source Info provider and the inbound Info Source of the target Info Provider. for more information refer this documents:

Hello,
Infosource are also used if your BW data targets act as a source for another BW system.
In this case the source BW data targets should be an infosource. ( Export Data source)

Hi ,
in BI 7.3 not mandatory of using info source - it will maintain communication structure and transfer structure.
In SPO info source used for intermediate pipe line form data source to info source.
Thanks,
Phani.
