Creating Personnel Area for Glasgow

Former Member

Hello,

I am trying to create personnel areas for regions across Great Britain but one of them is Glasgow. I can't find this in the drop down for Regions when create my area and neither Scotland or Glasgow is listed in Countries or Regions respectively.

Can anyone help please?

Much appreciated.

Hii,

If you are trying to create a Personnel Area -Glasgow this is very specific to your company and you can configure this in SPRO in the Personnel area Table

If you are looking for Glasgow as a region within the general settings then it will not be available as Glasgow is within the region of  Lanarkshire  and only Lanarkshire will be available in the general settings.

Also to your question, Scotland is still not a country yet.

If you are not able find any particular region, in drop down. You can define region by making changes through below spro path

SPRO->SAP Net Weaver->General Settings->Set Countries->Insert Regions

Hi,

I wouldn't recommend to add a new reagion, unless you are really sure this is reflecting the political and postal structure of the country.

What actually qualifies as a region in the UK is has probably never been understood 100% by anybody not born in the UK 😉 Regions represent counties, but there si a bit of a mess between metropolitan, non-metropolitan and ceremonial counties and their change over time and unitary authorities that can be relevant as well. There are threads in the SCN discussing this aleady, but two points of advice:

- don't even try to figure it out yourself. Ask the customer which county they need to see for their address. They know best.

- if you find it messy for addresses (never seen a country, where infotype 0006 is maintained so chaotically and inconsistently as across the UK), you have the Royal Mail on your side: Whilst all Brits love using their counties in addresses (but not enough to write the full name of the county) it is no longer an official part of an address and not required to send a letter. Therefore, I'd always try to argue with the customer to leave them out of printed addresses anyway.

best wishes

HI Ali,

I understand that in the drop-down while you are creating the Personnel area for the country Key- GB you are not bale to find the region Scotland or Glasgow so i think the drop-down which you are getting in the F4 help is from the table V_T005S.

So do check the table if the region is not there then it will not come up in F4 help while creating Personnel area. If you need you can add here but not advised as per the standard if the region is there SAP would have been provided . If it is not there better raise with SAP.

Hope this clears the issue.

This willnot be in drop down list, you need to create personnel areas

SPRO> Enterprise structure> Definition>Human Resource Management>Personnel Areas

Request you to close the issue if your issue is resolved or else feel free to touch base
