I would like to know how would attributes data will be populated....i have 2 attribute assigned to a Product which is the master data but now when i try to create CVC in MC62 i dont see the attributes fields there which i am infomed...so my question is how can the data for attributes gets populated..does it have to be loaded from History or is there any way to load it manually...another question is when the history is brought from ECC to APO BW cube then when you create CVC combination based on the history in the cube how does the system knows which data will get populated in attribute field...does the sales history data has to match the CVC template..
Hello Ganesh
Just like (main) Characteristics, Attributes are Infoobjects as well. But these attributes are added as a part of (main)Characteristic Infoobjects. They provide additional details about the main characteristic. So when the master data is loaded into these (main) Characteristic infoobjects, you also need to load the required attribute data in it.
For Example :
PRODUCT is Characteristic having MATERIAL GROUP, BRAND and PRODUCT FAMILY as its attribute.
So when you will load the data into PRODUCT infoobject, you require to populate all its attributes as well. The record in the Product infooject will look like below.
Product#ABCD, MatGrp#GRP111, Brand111, ProdFamily111
Main Characteristics are added as Characteristic in MPOS.
Now regarding CVC creation, Yes.CVCs can be created based on Sales History data loaded in infocube. For creating CVCs, ONLY value for characteristics needs to be populated. Attribute values comes automatically based on the data from main characteristic.
As per above example, let us say for Product# ABCD CVCs are created, so values for all its attributes(like brand, mat. group, prod fmly) values will come based on the data in Product Infoobject.
As suggested by others, you need consult your local BI and APO team member.
Hope this answers your query.
Thank you

It does not come from history....history only comes at the CHARACTERISIC level...the attributes have to be loaded or created the way I have told you in the previous response.

Ganesh,
Attributes of a Product van not be created using MC62...either you load them with the help of a BI resource or you do it manually from RSD1 by going to table /bic/P* for your prduct characteristic. After that you still have to execute 'Apply Hierachy/Attribute change from rsa1. Better talk to your BI resource.
Thanks,
Subash
