BP search is slow

Dear All,

we are running SAP CRM 7.0 EHP2. The number of BP records is 1.4 million .

We have implemented TREX search .

Still we face issues in BP search .

BP search by first name is taking approx 12 seconds and search by Last name is taking approx 65 seconds

Is there any specific reason why search by Last name is taking more time compared to search by First name ?

It is more important for the business to search by last name rather than first name.

we are not able to find the switch (SFW5) CRM_SEARCH_1 which corresponds to the new Enterprise Search functionality recommended by SAP.

Is there any possibility to activate Enterprise search in SAP CRM 7.0 EHP2 ?

Any ideas that would speed up the BP search would be very much appreciable.
