Manual condition type disappear when entered in the sale order

Former Member

Hello,

I'm getting this weird behavior while entering the condition type in the sales order. This is a Z condition type with 'C' in the condition definition and marked as manual in the pricing procedure. So when I enter this condition manually in the sales order and enter the condition value or rate, it just disappears without giving any error message.

I've checked all my config and couldn't find any inconsistencies.

Please reply if you have encountered this behavior in the past and how did you resolve it. Appreciate your help .

Thanks,

Sudhir

Couple of questions.

  • Is it happening for all customers?
  • Is it happening for all document types?
  • Is the condition header level or item level?  If header level, ensure you also ticked 'Activate' button at the bottom screen of the condition tab

I feel, it could be due to some exit.  Just redo this exercise (manually enter the condition type) in debug mode so that you can find out the root cause of the issue.

Hi Lakshmipathi

Here are the answers -

1. Yes, it's happening for all customers.

2. Yes, it's happening for in multiple document types.

3. It's the item level condition type.

There are no user exits or VOFM routines.

Please advise.

Sudhir

Can you check your condition type again?

Whether in your  condition type (V/06) in section "changes which can be made" for "Manual entries" field, you have anything value other than "No limitations" or "C - Manual entry has priority". Like B - Automatic entry has priority or D - Not possible to process manually, which might not be suitable for these sort of configuration.

Hi

Check in your pricing procedure if there is any requirement (VOFM)

Regards

Eduardo

PD: please, see SAP Note 156230 - Requirements: What is permitted, what is not?

Hi Eduardo,

There is no requirement or the condition value routine assigned in the pricing procedure.

This is a manual condition type and for some manual processes.

Thanks,

Sudhir

Hi

If there isn't any requirement or formula for your pricing requirement

check if there is any question related with hiding conditions with authorization objects. See these notes

SAP Note 105621 - Authorization check for the condition screen

SAP Note 1165078 - Authorization check for conditions or subtotals

I hope this helps you

Hi Eduardo,

There are no special authorizations built in as mentioned in the note. As per the note, system would give an error message of authorization check failed. But in my scenario, condition type just disappears without any error or warning message.

This is a new implementation and we didn't develop any special authorizations around condition types.

Thanks,

Sudhir

You can make 2 changes in your condition type to get desired result

1. Activate "Header Condition" indicator.

2. Don't maintain any values in "Scale basis". It should be blank. As you currently have C - Quantity scale there.

And don't forget to try these changes on new sales document.

It's still not working. I have tried with the same condition type config (the same as in the screenshot) on other system (different client) and it's working fine. Not sure what I'm doing differently here.

Sudhir,

In which client is it working fine? and in which it is not working?

Are these two different systems - DEV and QAS? or....

How many customizing requests did you use for this configuration? (more than one...)

Are all requests transported (correctly)?

Hi,

By different client I meant another company's SAP system. Not the clients in DEV and QA systems.

Apologize for the confusion.

Sudhir,

In the system where it does not work, could you set this condition type as mandatory in the pricing procedure and then test (create sales order)?
