Alerts in Design Studio using SAP HANA or SAP BO Universe as a data source

Hi,

   I have a requirement of applying Alerts in Design Studio, my data source is SAP BO Universe.I can apply alerts in Design Studio if my data source is SAP BW BEx Query with some limitations. Does Design Studio 1.2 supports alerts on Universe as a source?Please help. Thanks in advance.

Hello Srinivas,

you don't have that option with the Universe as a data source. So you are now back to manually highlighting items using scripting

Hello Ingo,

              "Manually highlighting items using scripting" does it mean to write CSS Script?? Do we have a procedure to highlight the required measure based on the range of the measure.

If yes, can you plz provide me the code to achieve the same.

Hi Ingo,

                In the new version of  SAP Design Studio 1.3 can we achieve alerting a value in a text box where the value  changes dynamically from a data source.

I am not sure I follow how you are using the alerts - what are the alerts you are trying to do?  Can you describe more?  What are the limitations with alerts to the BEx queries that you are referencing?

APPLICATION.alert can work as a pop-up regardless of the data source

Hi Tammy,

               Alerts on BW BEx Query: I have created exceptions in BW BEx Query and populated those alerts in Design Studio using Conditional formatting, it worked fine.I cant select the required colour on my measuresat BEx Query level, default colours are appearing in DS which is the limitation. Do we have a option of selecting required colurs at DS level.

Can we show alerts in DS if we are using HANA or Universe as a source with Application.alert??

Hi Srivinas,

You do not have the exact same option when using a universe or HANA as a datasource. Best way to go in that case is probably by going through analysis office and smart copy into Design Studio.

Thanks for the posts Tammy and Van. I will chk those. I think I need rights to access Analysis for OLAP.
