Hi Gurus,
I am very new to workflow but we are trying to configure a simple workflow for posting of parked documents.
We do not have SAP HR so cannot link approvals to any objects in this area.
I am wanting to know whether it is possible to have a simple workflow that we could have the user who parked the journal, nominate a relevant user to approve their journal i.e. their manager. A workflow would then be sent to this nominated user for approval
Any assistance appreciated
Thanks!
Hello,
You don't need to have HR to have an org structure. Surely your system has one? Look in PPOSW.
Avoid Z tables!

You can create a Z table and maintain the approvers along with their role and company code.
Create an implicit enhancement in standard program and provide a pop up to select one of these approvers from this table at the time of parking the document.
Then you can assign it to agents by creating a rule with function module and read this data.

Hi,
At first yo have to create organization plan for workflow to identify relation of users like mangers, employee in PPOM.
Then take refernce from WS10000052, WS10000053 and create workflow as per your requirement . And use the BO FIPP for parked document

Hi Tracee
One common approach is to maintain approval types, level and agents in 'Z' tables and have the workflow read them. However, this will result in separate maintenance ....always.
For your specific requirement, where you want the user to have the control to choose the agents, you can use Ad Hoc Agent Assignment options.
The following links will help you understand and setup Ad Hoc Agent assignment:

Also, if you can get your hands on the Workflow Course material, BIT601 - SAP Workflow - Definition and Use of Customer Specific Workflows, you can learn more on this topic in Unit 7.
