hello gurus,
Our users have asked to have the output printed for every transfer posting. WE03 output type looks good in NACE tcode and I tried to create condition records in MN21, but it gives me the error message 'you cannot use partner for output type WE03". Can someone throw some light on this?
thanks
Ravi
Hi,
You can use output type WA03 for your transfer posting in NACE tcode instead of output type WE03.

OMJ4 is the transaction code to determine which output types will be determined for the selection of plants, user groups, printers. It will suit your purpose.

Hi Tamma
It sounds like the WE03 in your system is not set-up for partner-independent output. You can see that the flag it is set in my system below:
If this flag is not set your output conditions must include a partner type which is configured against the WE03 output type.
From the SPRO transaction you need to follow the path Materials Management --> Inventory Management and Physical Inventory --> Output Determination --> Maintain Output Types to check the same setting in your system. You can also see the allowed partner functions from here.

The reasons I was trying to enter partner function is bevuase we don't want this printoutput to be printed for every plant's transfer posting in MIGO. I wanted this to be only for one specific plant, that is why I was thinking in MN21 if I could have just one plant or maybe I think I will have to come up with plant as one of the key in key combination?
I have a similar situation at my current client. I created a new access sequence but I don't think you have to do that.
There is a printer deterimnation section in SPRO just below the output type setup. In there you can assign printers for the WE03 output type by plant and storage location. If you specify a printer for the storage locations you are interested in and then avoid entering any printer information against the condition record in MN21 I think you will get what you are looking for.
I have tried in OMj3 and I have specified the plant, sloc and the printer as LOCL, because then it will be dependent on the user and their default printer that they are tied to for the output type WE03. The other plants where we don't want this printing, do not have the output type mentioned in the combinations. I tested this, but still I do not see the output tab at all in the material document in migo after I have done the transfer posting.
Check your user parameters you need to have NDR = "X". This sets the print indicator in the header of MIGO. Without that nothing will print automatically but you can manually set the flag when you want to print.
Also for WE03 you usually need to have print version 3 "Collective Slip" selected.
