Need to track cost only for information purpose through IO

Hi All,

I would like to track some cost details through a statistical IO. But when I do postings through FB50, it is asking for real cost object.

How to achieve this to track only for information purpose. I dont want any real cost to be stored in the system.

Can anyone help me?

Hi Ram

Thats not possible.. The moment you create GL as a cost element, true (real) cost object is mandatory,,,

Thanks for your quick reply. But my requirement is we are going to start a new plant for that we will initially make payment later it will be return back to us. So, dont want to maintain in FI books. Just to track only information purpose how much we spent.

How to achieve this? Thanks in advance.

Hi

When you make a payment, it will take the money out of your bank account.. So, you have to record in FI books.. Later on when returned to you, then again record it

I dont know why you want to keep it off the record.. Transparency only helps!!
