Export as excel(XLS) from alv report taking more time to downlaod

Hi Experts,

I using REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY to execute alv output. In my alv output i have 1 lakhs 24 thousand rows. when i tried to download this data(Export to excel) it taking 45 minutes to download.

could any please suggest how to overcome this issue?

    Best option is to give the Excel Download functionality in the report instead of letting the users to use the standard download. You can use either 'SAP_CONVERT_TO_XLS_FORMAT' or GUI_DOWNLOAD to accomplish that. Standard download does consume more time if the data set is large.

      Hi Thanesh,

      I don't think it is the line count. I think it is the size of the table which counts. If you really want to download your file in foreground, try to download in sets. You know what I mean. If you think that 100000 is the limit, just download it in 1000000 sets into different files.

      But consider downloading this much of data in background into a shared location using OPEN DATASET. That is my recommendation.
