SUM tool not accepting any password

Hi

I want to upgrade my PI7.31 system to PI7.31 SP10(Java only system) through SUM tool. I have Downloaded SUM *.SAR file and extracted it under \usr\sap\<SID>\ and have started it. Please see below screenshots. When I go to Determine SAP SID setp it is not accepting any password. I have tried the password of SUM Administrator and SAP<SID> users. But it is not accepting any passwords.

Could you please advise where I am missing ? Is there any step by step guide which explains using SUM tool for upgrading java only SAP System ?

Thanks

Ravindra

    Hi Ravindra,

as u said it is a java only system.try with user "Administrator", it should work.

this "administrator" user-id will not work for "jump to another step"

    best regards

    Hi Ravindra,

In last screenshot you need to give that password which you kept at the time of your system setup, means at CI phase we need to set passwords for <sid>adm as well as for ora<sid>.Try to give that password to resolve this phase.

    Thanks,

    Hi,

    Stop SUM

    then make a backup and then Re-name two files (<SUM Directory>\SUM\sdt\data) ->.sdt_storage & .sdt_storage

    Start SUM again.

    best regards

Ashish, Thanks for your reply !

Still it is not allowing me to proceed further. I have tried with both the passwords of <sid>adm as well as ora<sid>. And also I have renamed .sdt_storage & .sdt_Keystore files. It didn't helped and it is throwing the same error.

    Thanks

Henry, Thanks for your reply !

In my system I have kept same password for all users. So in that case, neverthless it should accept it.

But it is not accepting, and I am not able to proceed further. Please advise.

    Thanks

      Hi Ravindra,

After extracted the SUM to /usr/sap/<sapsid>, you will be accessing the SUM through the web-browser or DSUGui.

The first step is always to create an administrator user for your SUM upgrade session.
Else, maybe you can consider to start all over again (create user again), considering that you are still in the first roadmap.

      Thanks.

    Hi Ravindra,

In the first screenshot you have mentioned that you used SIDadm user also. It is not needed to use SIDadm. While upgrading I used the details like this:

    username:Admin

    password:Admin(we can use any password)

This username and password is only for the SUM tool Administration only.

    Dear Ravindra,

Kindly refer to the SAP Note: 1563660.

Setting required permission for sapstartsrv and sapuxuserchk will fix this issue.

I too had faced similar issue during EP 7.31 upgrade, resolved by changing permission.
