when i am costing a material system is pickig the old cost estiamte

Hello SAP Gurus

When i am costing for one of the material system is picking the cost estiamte which was saved earlier

i have put the do not cost  for this material

and now i am executing the costing system

Please guide how to solve this issue

Hello SAP gurus

One of my user ran costing on 19112013 (Costing date from 01012014 and costing date to 31122014, Qty structure date 01012014 and valuation date 01012014) using CK40N upto analysis

One of the material he has changed the price control from S to V on 21112013

He also ticket do not cost on 21112013

On 05112014 he created new costing run in CK40N

Again he ran costing (costing date from 05012014 and costing date to 31122014, qty structure date 05012014 and valuation date 05012014)

He maked and released this costing run

When he checked the material for which he made changes system picking the cost what he was saved on 19112013

system not picked the cost according to price control in the material master why?

Costing variant i have 1 priority as planned price 1 and second priority was price according to price control

He has deleted the planned price as well

Please let me if you further more information

Since you say that on 19/11/2013 the run was done only upto 'Analysis" step, hence there is no possibility of price update on 19/11/2013 because marking and releasing was not done.

You say "system not picked the cost according to price control in the material master why?"

Because on 21/11/2013 he has ticked Do Not Cost indicator, hence during the cost run on 05/01/2014 this item is not being costed.

Now tell us what is your expectation with the system? Presently system is strictly following your orders of DNC.

Hi..

Although row material for FG or SFG have “do not cost” flag, row material’s cost is included in std cost for them.

To exclude row material with do not cost” flag, Refer to below picture.

You should define space as Indicator for Relevancy to Costing  for  row material with do not cost” flag Through t-code cs02.

System is picking cost what was saved on 19112013

That time we have planned price 1 maintained in the system

system picked up the cost and updated

Later he deleted the planned price 1 and he put do not cost indicator

as i said user also changed the price control from S to V on 21112013

Now on 05012014 user is executing new cost estiamte

As per the system do not cost mark is there but this material is raw material

becuase price control has changed

Plan price 1 also deleted

this material is one of the component in FG

when i checked the FG cost on 05012014 for that material system still picked the cost estiamte saved on 19112013 why?

system not suppose to pickup that cost

CK40N user also selected Always recost material

So you mean to say is that system is not picking MAP of raw material as on 05/01/2014 while doing costing of FG material on 05/01/2014 but it is picking what MAP was there on or before 19/11/2013 Right?

Please check that the system is picking price from which field of material master costing 2 tab and let us know.

If you only calculate std cost for raw material with do not cost flag, System don’t calculate std cost.

If you calculate std cost  for FG or SFG which have raw material with do not cost flag as bom item, System calculate STD cost including the raw material’s cost.

To avoid it, raw material with do not cost flag as bom item have space for Relevancy to Costing .

The component has Price control S before

We have planned price 1 was maintained in costing 2 view so system picked up that price

Cost variant also we have planned price 1 has priority

Planned price now deleted and component has price control V and priority 2 is price according price control in the material master

so system has to pick moving average price this time

but system is picking old cost estimate price what was there on 19112013

Bhimappa,

if you checked do no cost then the existing cost will be there at the time of cost run as this material will not be included.

if you want new cost to be updated then uncheck the do not cost indicator and re run

After doing this if it's still not updating the new cost then you need to delete CKR1 the existing cost for the period and do cost run.

Dear Bhimappa

You made all of us confused

My understanding is that you have switched on 'DNC' indicator for the material which you are trying to cost. If this is the case the system is following your orders only. Remove 'DNC' from it and try to cost it.

Secondly, If above is not the case then please check the validity of standard cost of the subjected material. If the SCE is valid on date of new costing run, system will not cost it. You can tick 'Always Recost' button in CK40N in order to recost the same material.

Please be clear on what you convey!!

For which material you have switch on "Do not Cost" button? Is it for Raw Mat or SFG/FG?

Assume if you do the same for a raw material, it will not included in the costing.

Give some clear explanation to resolve the issue.
