Do you use SAP BPC & Reverse Proxy with 2 Factor Authentication?

Our subsidiary users must connect to BPC via a reverse proxy with 2Factor Authentication.

They get through to our SAP Portal and select the BPC application - with no issue. However, when they select the EPM Add-in it fails because the cookies cannot be found.

The EPM Add-in has two ways to retrieve the cookies:

  1. The authentication page is opened and is on the same domain than the BPC Web Portal
  • In this case, the EPM Add-in parses all the opened pages and will retrieve the cookies (this is dotnet framework included function)

However, with Citrix NetScaler, I have been informed that it is not possible to have the authentication on the same domain as the application.

The way authentication works on NetScaler is to have its own page and domain.

  1. As a fallback, if this first step did not succeeded, the EPM Add-in uses the InternetGetCookieEx API to retrieve them from the BPC Web Portal

However, the Internet Explorer API cannot retrieve the cookies because the reverse proxy cookies are not stored on the same URL as the BPC Web Portal.

If anyone using BPC with reverse proxy and 2FA? Does the EPM Add In work for you?
