Hi,

I have  3 chart of account in my company; Operating Chart of account, Group chart of account and the country specific chart of account. the country chart has been create after the company was already operative. Whenever we try to assign an alternative gl account in the gl master data, we getting an error message: FH007. If we assign the country account in OB62 there is no way to use an alternative chart of account in GL master. If we don't assign it in OB62, the alternative GL field is taking anything even alphanumeric values. The customer want us to put a validation so without assigning  the country char of account in OB62, whenever we enter any other value than the alternative GL account number  in the alternative gl fied in gl master data an error should be displayed. only values from the country chart of account should be accepted in the alternative GL field.

could anyone help please ?

many thanks

Dear Joshjo,

you can also refer to the Knowlede Base Aricle which describes in detail what you can do:

1650435 - Error message FH007 appears in TA FS00

Hi Joshjo,

As mentioned by other group members and referred in forum, you should perform a one time activity of assigning proper Alternate G/L accounts in G/L master data by removing Country CoA at OBY6.

After updating the g/l master data with proper alt g/l account, reassign Country CoA, this will now take care for all future g/l accounts master data.

I Julie,

If I de  assign the country COA it is OK as I did it before. But the problem is that now the alternative GL field will be taking any value as per screen shot. How to restrict it to value from the country COA only is there any way of putting a validation?

thanks

Josh

Hi Josh

Since this is a one time activity, you can manually ensure that correct GL no is populated

I would go with detaching, maintain the GL that you want and attach it, as suggested by Naseem

Hi Joshjo,

I can understand what you mean to say...

Alternative account no. is a freely definable field and that is the reason you are able to enter anything in that field. But to restrict that you can try validation, so that it does not allow any other value but values only from country chart of account that you have defined.

Josho,

The field is alphanumeric in wished scenario. In order to validate GL account format without CoA assigment you have to create a user exit or BTE. There are no other function to get it done.

Hi Joshjo,

You need to know what GL accounts need to be defined as alternative account in your Chart of Accounts. Once you note them down... you need to detach/remove the Country Chart of Account from OBY6. Enter the Alternative GL account in COA in FS00 manually. Once all are defined you can now define Country Chart of Accounts in OBY6.

Hi Nasseem,

I have tried all this before but it did not work. as we posting already in all the GL accounts an error  message is displaying. My question was is there anyway of putting a validation rule for the alternative gl field in GL master to accept gl from the country COA only ?

kind regards

josh
