Is there any way we can extract data from a failed/successful PI message without opening the payload?

What i am looking for is not to download the message or check the message. I can do that by opening the payload, however i need to check and find the value for a particular field without opening the payload.
Please advise.

AFAIK - I don't think there is such a way where you can find the field value along with the message attributes.
you have to go for custom solution i.e. write a java program using above methods and display the custom attribute values.
