Hi Gokul,
With JRE 7, some Security APIs were added, which were interrupting with the thread that launched the MII workbench. By allowing the 'Show Console' feature, there are two separate threads spawned, one for launching the WB and one for initialising the Java Console. Hence, by allowing 'Show Console', the launch of workbench would begin to work. (go to java control panel and in Advanced tab, enable 'Show Console'.
This was a known bug in JRE 7 and was due for a fix from Oracle. If the latest update is installed on the system, then the aforementioned problem is not the cause of WB launch problem. If its not the latest JRE 7 version, then I would suggest you to give it a try to enable 'Show Console' and see if the WB gets launched.
If that also doesn't work, then I would suggest you to uninstall JRE7 and try with JRE6 as we have seen multiple posts on SCN about MII WB launch problems with the JRE7.

Hi Gokul,
Before uninstalling jre7, just go to the java control properties and switch on the java console.
This also works sometime for jre7 but then the java console will always open along with the workbench.

Rohit Negi.
