Object ID during data migration in C4C

Hi pros,

How can I define object IDs during data migration?

If I use data migration templates in C4C there is ,amdatory field ID, but it is not equal to the ID assigned to object in C4C.

Example:

I use a Phone call migration template and specify ID 2800 (which is available in C4C):

After loading this phone call into C4C there is ID 2731

I guess C4C automatically assigns the next available ID to object during migration. The only way I see now is to manually find the last used ID and put the next unused in the template.

Is there any way to force C4C to use a particular ID?

Best regards,

Dear Nadezhda,

For some business object, the migration tool provides you with the option to use either the new system allocated ID, or use the ID provided in the migration template. Specifically for phone call activities, this configuration is not available, however I can show you an example in the Migration of Customers activity.

After the file validation, the configuration will appear in the step 2 (Convert Values) of the migration. It appears as the following:

When you enter this activity, you will be able to choose between using the new proposed ID (New numbers taken by migration service), or use the values provided in the template (Keep the old legacy numbers).

Please let me know whether this information supplies your requirement.
