Report application server failed

Hi,

I'm using SAP Business Object Enterprise XI install on Suse Linux. I found service ReportApplicationServer not running.

I check from Servers > Service Categories > Crystal Reports. agent_node1.ReportApplicationServer stop. I try to restart but still failed. Any idea? Do i need to patch? Install from Crystal Report 2008.

Thanks.

Hi,

As per the update 12.3 means you are using BOE 3.1 SP3 and as per the supported platforms guide the SLES 11 is not supported with BO 3.1 SP3. You can check the supported platforms guide at

Do i need to buy BOE 4.0?

Hi,

I believe you will need to buy upgrade license for BI 4.0 because the license key for BI 4 is different. You can confirm this with SAP Accounts manager. Also please go to sap service market place and check whether you are able to see the downloads for BI 4.

Could you please mark one of the threads as answered to avoid confusion.

In BOE 3.1 version RAS has been a problem if product is installed on *nix environments. Upgrade your servers till SP6 + where RAS has become very stabled.

For the time being, try to create a new RAS service. See if it works. Also check why the CMS is not able to register the RAS. You can check this from CMS Logs.

You need to investigate the log files to identify the root cause of the issue. Kindly share the log files if you have the one.
