indent and spacing option in char (smartstyles)

in a smartform i have lots of standard texts->text element in a tempelate.

The text in text element has been assigned Character format C2 -> created under a style in smartstyles.

the problem is when the smartform is displayed in print preview, the line patterns (crossings) of tempelate

are merging with the texts.

i was looking for something like we have a option in paragraph formatting ->Indent & spacing (SPACE AFTER,SPACE BEFORE)

but this option wasn't available in character formatting.

What could be te sol'n for this.

Or do i have to change each and every text element from char to paragraph font in which spacing option is available..
