Hi Experts,
Hope you are well.
I am working in a distribution company. We have a lot of products which are being manufactured in a campaign.
Example- Product A has a expiry of Nov-14 and as per MRP will say create a purchase order in October for November delivery but this product A is only manufactured in April and July.
Is there any way, I can change settings in MRP (SAP) so that SAP looks at campaign dates & run out dates. Currently, I have to create a spreadsheet and remember when to product A.
Being all you are experts, therefore I request you to please share your knowledge. Your help would be highly appreciated. Thanks
Hi Raj,
Mentionin g the solution what I understood(might be not correct)
How you are passing the demand in MRP. I think PIR will solve your problem. You can upload the required material month wise ( I mean whenever you required the material). MRP will provide the proposal on those months.
You create PIR for July also.
Please let me know the further concern and whether my understanding is correct.

Hi Krishnendu,
Thansk for the suggestion,
We can do it that way by only putting demand in the months we want a PR and taking out a lead time but we are changing one manual system for another as there is a option for maintaing the spreadsheet.
My intention is to find a way to automate the PRs around the campaign months
Hello
You can use a periodic lot sizing procedure (PK, for example) and define a planning calendar on transaction MD25 with the desired dates. MRP will only create purchase requisitions on the periods defined on the planning calendar.
Take a look on the following links for more details:

Hi,
A small query. What is campaign date and runout date?

Hi Krishnendu,
Example- As per campaign dates, supplier only manufactured product A two times a year only. In this case take campaign date is April and July. Which means this product will only be manufactured in April and May.
Run-out date is the actual date when all our stock will be finished and company will be out of stock for product A, which in this case is November.
As per our current MRP system, we have got a safety stock of 15 days and lead time of 7 days (just an example), as soon as we will have 22 days stock, system will place an order (in October) so that new order should arrive in store as soon as safety stock limit will hit.
But in this case, the product is only manufactured in April and July so manufacturer will not be able to supply this product in October/November. Is there any possibility if we can store this information in SAP. So that even if the safety stock has not hit system should calculate on its own that order needs to be placed for July delivery..
Thanks
