Visual Difference in BI 4.1 SP1 Update 4 -- Not Working

Hello All,

We are on SAP BO 4.1 SP1 Update 4 (Red Hat Linux). The Visual Difference feature in CMC is not working for us when trying to compare 2 BIAR files. We are getting the following error:

[b]Plugin not found error. (VDS 00007)" [/b]

Let me know it this feature is working for any body? Also guide me how to troubleshoot this. Raised a SAP ticket on it but so far no solution yet.

Hi,

Please confirm whether you are using LCMBiar or no because as per the SAP KBA 1548074 and 1575010 only LCMBiar works in Visual Difference. Also as per the BI 4.1 admin guide and What’s new guide the other biar file comparison feature is not yet added in the product, however you can confirm it from SAP support.

Hence only LCMBiar works in Visual difference as of now. Please check above mentioned SAP KBAs.

Yes, as mentioned earlier I am using LCMBIAR files only for report comparison in visual difference.

Is it working for you? Let me know if it is working for any body.

So far I haven't heard that it was working for anybody, every body is pointing to the KBA articles. But is it working for any body is my question here. If so what settings do you.

Can you check if you have dedicated APS with Visual Difference service in Life Cycle Management services?

Hello Jawahar, Nope there is no dedicated APS for Visual Difference, but we do have dedicated APS for LCM services. Could that be the issue? Please suggest.

You don't need to have dedicated AJS for Visual Difference. As long as this service is available along with other LCM services, it should be fine.

I think that was the issue, there was no APS defined for this LCM service. It seems to be working after creating an APS for this service. Thanks Jawahar.

I´m having the same problem.

I try to compare 2 lcmbiar files and Visual Difference throws the following error:

Plugin not found error. (VDS 00007)

How did you make it work?

I´m using SAP BI Platform 4.1, sp 6.

I thought this functionality would be working on 4.1. I don´t know what is missing.

I've got the same error that is discussing here.

I have a dedicated APS.LCM with the Visual Difference Service, but it still not working. Comparing and LCMBIAR with the same promotion job in the CMS.

Otherwise, I try to compare VMS against VMS, it connects succesfully, but when I search for an object, it only appears de LCM folder. And as I know, it should shows VMS objects, not the Promotion jobs.

It is so weird. Could you help with that issue?

Are you trying to compare LCMBiar files or Biar files created from previous version? Make sure the LCMBair files are created using Promotion Managment.

Yes, I am comparing the LCMBiar files generated through Promotion Management, those BIAR files were created on the same environment (comparing 2 report versions in same folder too). But still throwing the error mentioned.

Let me know if it is working for you in BI4.1 SP1 update 4.

By the way, the LCMBIAR files contain 2 reports that are having different CUID's. Will that be an issue?

Hi,

There may be a problem if CUIDs of the same report are different in two environments because Promotion Management works on the principle of CUID. Please try to compare two LCMBiar files which have reports with same CUID.
