Input Control has no effect on report

Hi Experts,

My WebI report is like below

Zone |  Region | Branch | Item Name | ValueAsonDate1 | ValueAsonDate2 | Variation(diff between value1 and value2)

Variation is a variable created at WebI level(not in DB).  Variation=[Query 2].[Value]-[Query 1].[Value].

The date 1 of query 1 and date 2 of query 2 are given as prompts.Till there it works fine.

When I add an input control of object 'Variation' ( page body is the dependency), it has no effect on the report. Why so?

Please help me...

Thanks in advance

Sandeep

Sandeep,

First of all you should not have a input control on a calculated number as input controls filters records based on absolute value in run time on a record level and report calculates object based on the defined context so this operation can created in consistencies in output.

Also input control does not suggest merged query and merged dimension currently.

So this limitation would be applicable for you case possibly using calculation based on merged dimension feature..

There is a idea place entry for this feature.
