Do you want to use the SAPGUI app to access your EPR syste, from public network? or the web based application. I would suggest speak to your network team about this requirement.

Its not a good idea to expose your ERP system on public network as there is always threat..

You can use sap webdispatcher and the SAP JAVA GUI if you want... there are plenty of docs on this on sdn... SAP Web Dispatcher - SAP Library

Hi,

To open certain application via sap gui i would not directly open to internet..

There are some suggestion that are costly

Can use Citrix and publish sap Gui in citrix .

Do you know the users who would access the application if you open it. Can have some VPN implemented.

Thanks

Hi Sumit

For accessing the SAP systems directly via the GUI , there are options like VPN  Client ( CISCO ) or Citrix which is commonly used by several clients.

At the same time , you can have a front end portal - which can be accessible from the internet and which redirects to SAP Transactions at the back end through SSO.

There will be web-dispatcher in front of the Java system which will route the traffic.

Please check with your client about the specific requirement and accordingly you can design the solution.

Hi,

You need to provide more input related to what application ...

Do you have portal that you want to expose to public network or abap web dynpro application..

Usually Company will have either load balancer or web dispatcher sitting in there DMZ zone which will be exposed to internet and all the sap application would be in internal network .

Usually all the application open to public network would be accessed via https and the ssl would be offloaded in the DMZ zone.

It all depends on the security policy of your company how you do it.

Thanks
