is there a limit to if statement in a formula

running 11.5, I have a formula that has 31 if them loops

example:

if {CI_Item.UDF_19OZJAR}="Y" then "19oz jar" else

when I call this from another formula it does not pass thru all the if loop which cause the end resulting formula to no work correctley

Thank you for any lite you could shed on this

declare the null values before the if statement.

    If isnull(database.field) then "A"

    else if database.field = "Z" then "B"

    else if...

    else if...

    else if...

    else if...

    .

    .

    .

    .

    else "A"

I don't think so. However, I've heard of another loop evaluation limit - the exact number which I don't remember.

31 loops should not be an issue at all. Could you check if there are Null values that you're trying to evaluate the formula against?
