Save to Enterprise error in Rich Client (BI4 SP2)

Former Member

Dear Sir/Madam,

We have recently upgraded our BI platform from 4.0 to 4.1 SP2.

After the upgrade, we found that when we use the "Save to Enterprise" function in Rich Client,

there will be an error shown as below:

This problem does not affect the administrator account but all the other accounts.

Please give us some advice. Thanks a lot!

Michael

Additionally, please check if a user can be added to administrator group and perform the same activty so that we can identify whethe rthere has been a break in security.

Added the user to the Administrator group and it works well as the administrator login.

So, is it caused by incorrect user setup? I did not change any user setup after the upgrade.

Hi,

Give a try to check these two option while saving the report to other enterprise.

  • save for all users
  • remove document security

Hi,

Could you please confirm have you setup Audit database and enabled auditing on BO services?

Yes, audit database setup complete and auditing services enabled.

It works well when using the Administrator account only.

We try to create new report and save, adminstrator account can save the report without this error. By other general user account, the report still can be saved, but with this error prompted.

Hi,

There may be an issue while writing information in Audit database. Please try to disable Auditing on Webi services for testing and then save the report to enterprise.

Can you tell me how to disable the Auditing?

Audit disabled by followig the step but the error still prompted.

Any idea about that?

Error still prompted after disable the Audit function.

Summarized the case below:

1. Webi - Save document by Administrator or other general user account - OK

2. Client - Save document by Administrator or other generatl user account - OK, BUT error prompted for general user account.

Seem that it is not the Audit setting issue, I grouped the general user account to the Admin group and no error prompted. Any idea of how to setup the general user account in order to solve this case?

Can you please check whether the issue is reproducible if the users are developing reports in BILaunchPad and saving to enterprise.

If yes, the issue would be due to version mismatch of webi rich client tool.

There is no error prompted if the report is developed in BILaunchPad.
