System Alias doubts & RFC error

hi Dear All,

i have the doubts on the system alias, here is our background:

we already installed the gateway box in gwd (sp4 on nw 740), so we only have sap_gwfnd component installed.

at the same time we have another box-- ecc business system ecd, and we want to publish the Remote Function Module as a gateway service.

and the system alias defined:

System Alias Local GW Local App RFC Destination ecdclnt800 ecdclnt800 LOCAL X NONE

1. because Remote Function Module locate in ecd, should i mark Local App as checked for alias ecdclnt800?

2. when i try to register the service, in the popup window(as the screen shot shows), shall i select ecdclnt800 or LOCAL?if i select the LOCAL, it could be register successfully, while ecdclnt800, it cannot be done and no error

3. if i select the LOCAL, the gateway service could be accessed, but during the RFC call. i got the error as followed

RFC call ended with "Communication Failure" exception (Function call failed; could not find the function ZODATA_TEST).

how could i fix this issue?

thank you very much!!!!!

best regards

lawrensh

    Hi Lawrence,

you please select "Local App" in system alias ecdclnt800 and then register the service using ecdclnt800 system alias. It should work.
