How to srore images in custom table?

Hi Experts,

I have searched in sdn. i am unable to find out .

I Have requirement to create a custom table but this custom table contain one field belong to image. so what should datatype to give for this filed. is that filed will store image? how?

Plz post answers this is very needful to me.
