DBACOCKPIT - Activate Lock escalation alert

Former Member

Hi folks,

Have anyone configured/activated the lock escalation alert on DBACOCKPIT transaction?

Is it anything that I should activate on RZ21/RZ20 first?

Regards,

Hi

Lock escalation is basically the  process of replacing row locks with table locks, reducing the number of locks in the lock list.

The MAXLOCKS parameter defines a percentage of the lock list held by an application that must be filled before the database manager performs escalation.

Please see the following note :

369772 - DB6: MAXLOCKS settings - detailed information

Please look at the following PDF link which speaks in detail about the configuration options.

http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/10a5f238-d09a-2c10-9a8a-d0a64f6a5...

Hope it helps.

Thanks

Rishi
